It had been 4 months now since that day back in Slateport. [break][break]

Four months since that black monster had taken the light in the City and caused devastation he hasn't seen since the war in Kanto he was forced to partake in. Unlike Kanto though, this thing was humanity against an unnatural force of nature. Honestly even now Razz is still shocked that he's alive. He was lucky, incredibly so especially as so many of his pokemon had lost their lives that day. It was painful, but not in a way many would expect. It was a feeling he didn't think others would understand, and even though he couldn't bring their bodies here to bring them a proper burial he things he's done the next best thing. [break][break]

Under a large tree Razz now sits at dawn with the sun still rising over the water. The perfect time cause it was too early for most people, but with the sun out most ghost pokemon were going back into their shadows. Razz puts down a cloth as Salem lights a few incense to put in the center, beside it a pile of custom pokeballs all decorated like the very pokemon they used to hold. All of them with the exception of one in their minimized form. On the other side Razz has a few pokepuffs. Okay so he did what people usually did when it came to things like this but.... "A shrine for the dead?" A voice inquires.[break][break]

Standing behind Razz, just meters away, was the Galarian ambassador. An Umbreon with blue rings accompanied him, silent as it stared at the stranger with an indifferent expression. An expression much like that of his master, in fact.[break][break]

Dressed in a cardigan and pleated trousers, the young royal adjusts his glasses on the bridge of his nose as he continues to examine Razz's setup from afar. "I don't see any evidence of a burial here..." He didn't need to be an archaeologist to assess that, really.[break][break]

Understanding what that meant, he returned his eyes to his friend and bowed his head. "My condolences."[break]

Razz couldn't help but tense up at the sudden voice, although familiar it still caught him off guard. Turning his head behind him to confirm who the voice belonged to the young man just slightly nods. Though it seems like he doesn't really know what to do still. Was this it? Did he just sit here? Just feel guilty about bringing them to their deaths? "Calcifet," he greets before turning back to them, though Salem gives both the Galarian and his fellow pokemon a wave. "No they wouldn't have one... not after that thing...." he trails off unsure if he should even talk about the incident. He isn't sure if its because his mind is filled with others thoughts, or decides that he's close enough to the other to be honest, but he at least decides to give a tad more, "Not after what they were up against," if the other wanted more he'd answer but he personally doesn't know how to phrase it well. [break][break]

"What of you? Not many people come here this time of day?" he ask as he still looks at the make shift grave for now as he wondered what others did. Maybe he'll be able to learn something from this.

Remiel, of course, is left wondering exactly how Razz's partners had perished. He spares a glance at his blue Umbreon. Its sharp yellow eyes give it the impression that it knows all. Perhaps, with its mind's eye, it could see exactly what had occured.[break][break]

But, alas, a question was asked of the royal. And he wasn't rude enough to ignore it, especially considering the familiarity he had with the young man. "I've purchased several plots on Mt. Pyre myself... but today, rumours of a ritual bring me here." He casually remarks.[break][break]

His Umbreon, in the meantime, calmly steps forward to sniff at the Meowstic from a distance of a few feet.[break]

The funny thing Razz has come to noticed is that he would probably share a bit more with people. Well not average people but those like Remiel Calcifet and even skyler dross he'd actually be willing to share things with. Thing was they never really asked things, and with the way he's been raised it was very much a if not asked about it, why tell about it? Silly little loop really. [break][break]

Though doesn't think much about the fact that the other has purchased land here. It doesn't really interest him on just how the man decides to build more of his estate though he does look back at the mention of a ritual. This makes the young man look back at him with nothing but pure confusion in his single eye. Especially when thinking about where exactly they were and the kind of rituals people usually did in places like these. He always thought that to be for the 'edgy teens' or the 'crazies.' Neither of which he would would categorize the other in so he was definitely confused. "What... kind of ritual?"[break][break]

Meanwhile Salem does watch as the umbreon curiously sniffs at him. And while the cat was a tad more emotionally stable in comparison to his trainer he did have his moments. Rather than sniff Salem decides to give the other a little boop in greeting, despite this not really being the situation for it. [break][break]

"That's what I've come here to find out," Remiel replies, the morning light filtering through the leaves of the tree above and onto his face. "My apologies, however: did I interrupt your prayer? I let my curiousity get the better of me."[break][break]

Salem, in the meantime, is booped by the Meowstic. The Umbreon doesn't flinch or panic, but simply blinks as it looks pointedly at its nose (nearly cross-eyed) before looking up at the cat. The blue rings on its body pulse with a dim glow. Then, slowly, it holds up a paw to try and boop the Meowstic back.[break][break]

"I was passing through to discover the site of this ritual. You are free to come along, should you desire." Remiel adds, looking up to examine the budding leaves.[break]

Razz gives a small huff, not because the other had interrupted him but rather at himself. He's never given a prayer before, not when he lost his very first pokemon, or for any human for that matter. So he was clueless now, all this was just what he had read up on and his own guilt of what he has brought to them. Maybe he needed a break?[break][break]

"It's fine," he dismisses as he scratches the top of his head in some frustration, "I was basically done anyways," he mentions as it has been awhile since he started, for the time just sitting in silence anyways. He looks over toward Salem as the Umbreon gives his cat a 'boop' and it does make a small smile rise. "looks like even here you can make a friend," he jokes with his Meowstic before he gets himself up. For now just allowing the alter to be there for his fallen pokemon. [break][break]

"I'd like to join you, color me curious on what it could be"

Razz appears as dismissive about religious faith as he is. Though Remiel wonders how true that can really be. Despite their lack of faith, they still buried their pokemon and built shrines for them, after all. It was tradition.[break][break]

The Umbreon continues to try and boop the Meowstic again, but Remiel notices and clicks his tongue, prompting it to heel by his side once more. "I've known pokemon to feel as much anguish over the death of their partners as human beings. Most are quicker to move on, however. I suppose that's what you get when you combine a capacity for emotion with a wild animal's livelihood."[break][break]

Unsurprisingly, Razz agrees to come along, and the prince nods. "Very well." He's just about to turn, as well, when he notices one of the sticks of burning incense lose the orange glow of its flame. Without a word, Remiel steps forward, crouches down, and produces a lighter from his inner jacket pocket to relight it. When he's done, he blows on the smoking stick to ensure it stays burning.[break][break]

"Do you have the day off, Kingsman? This might take all night."[break]

Salem seems like a pouty child when the other called for the umbreon to stop and go by his side, even gives a bit of protest to the annoying prince cause how dare he. Razz just kneels down to pet Salem's head before deciding to sign to the cat rather than speak his mind because the other had his own way of raising his pokemon. "Well why wouldn't they? I'd say they feel the same way we do, hell I'm sure some feel more," he comments knowing that Salem was much more in tune with his emotion than Razz did his. [break][break]

For now he unconsciously steps back as Remiel pulls out a lighter to relight the incense, "No I'm off call for the day, so I can be yours for all you need."

Placing the incense back on its pedestal, the prince sighs and stands up again. Razz's words bring back to mind images and sounds long since buried. The passionate roar of a dragon. A thundering den, so impossibly large it seemed to be able to house a city. Blood dripping off a barely attached arm. Why these simple words had such a strong effect was lost on the royal.[break][break]

But he snaps himself out of it; clears his throat.

"Yes, well... in my experience, cooler heads prevail. This is why I raise my pokemon the way I do." Turning around, he walks past Razz and gestures for him to come along with a slight wave of his hand. Salem the Umbreon is quick to trot along beside him, turning its head to and fro. "The supposed site of this ritual is just around the mountain here. I really don't expect to find anyone there... but keep your eyes peeled, Kingsman."[break]

"While fair, in my own personal experience cooler heads also lead to colder decisions and well.... sorry not judging you or anything for it," Razz is quick to apologize hoping he didn't offend the other. Though Salem understand what his trainer means and the cat is quick to hop onto his trainer's back and pat his in a 'its fine now' sort of way. [break][break]

For now he follows along and sees what looks to be weed in the grass and his head goes back to a little something. "Do you think the rituals at all have to do with the carrot seeds people have been planting?" he questions the possibility. He knows Shoal Cave had become more popular because of it but the other location was rumored for the grave yard.

Razz's apology is unexpected, though in-character for the lad, he supposed. The young royal shakes his head. "No need to apologize. Discussion and debate are healthy. If the participating parties keep an open mind and remain even-tempered, of course." Which brought him back to his point, but he didn't care to discuss it any further. Each of them were free to raise their pokémon as they liked, after all.[break][break]

Mention of the carrot seeds pique Remiel's attention afterwards. He raises a brow as he walks alongside Razz, the two of them following a trail of pale dirt that curves around the side of the misty, grey mountain. "Brilliant deduction, Kingsman. The rate of these rituals have tripled since the festival. From what I've read in the reports, most of them are in service of a mythological pokémon of some sort."[break][break]

A bull? A unicorn? If there was any truth to such a being, the Galarian certainly wished to find it out.[break]

"Sorry..." damn it he did it again, seems like it was just going to be habit he was going to eventually have to break. "Disagreeing usually led to bad times at home so... yeah...." he briefly explains. Half of his face was prime example of that, though he knows he explained it to the other as a 'lab accident' with blame thrown around. Which half true on all those things, so he'll leave things as just that unless asked otherwise. [break][break]

"Sounds about right, I heard that they could grow here as well, however I choose to plant the seed from the Festival over in Shoal Cave," Razz can't help but rub his hands together for some warmth as he could recall the chill that place seemed to leave. "The pokemon it lured was fascinating"
